We are delighted to welcome Daniel Tones and Owen Underhill to cmrc for a recital of new music for percussion and piano.
Daniel Tones is the Director of Fringe Percussion, an instructor at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and holds a doctorate in performance and ethnomusicology from the University of British Columbia. He performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, and has premiered music by John Luther Adams, Mark Applebaum, Bob Becker, and John Cage, and Canadians Howard Bashaw, Bruce Mather, Jocelyn Morlock, Jordan Nobles, Jon Siddall, and Owen Underhill, among many others.
Owen Underhill is a pianist, composer, and conductor. He is a Professor at Simon Fraser University’s School of the Contemporary Arts, Co-Artistic Director of Vancouver’s Turning Point Ensemble, former President of the Canadian Music Centre, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
