The York Spring Festival showcases cutting edge new music from across the country.

York graduates Anna Meredith and Stef Conner are making names for themselves in the world of new music. Anna Meredith has been commissioned by most of the leading orchestras and ensembles in the UK, and her piece Connect it was selected as one of the BBC’s ‘Ten Pieces’ scheme, which ‘aims to inspire a generation of children to get creative with classical music’. While in York, Anna will also work with local school composers, and lead a composition workshop with the ensemble Dark Inventions.
