ICAD Award to Ben Eyes and James Cave

Ben Eyes and James Cave won an award at the International Community for Auditory Display conference 2017 at Penn State, for ‘Best Use of Sound’. This was one of three prizes awarded by the board of ICAD.  James writes: ” It’s exciting for us to have had such a positive endorsement of our work in this area. We’re also both grateful for the financial support we received from the Research Committee.” The proceedings of the event are here.

  • Thomas Simaku receives PRS Foundation Award

    Thomas Simaku has received a PRS Foundation award from the Composers’ Fund in association with Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.

  • Chang Seok Choi CD and score publication

    A new CD including  Animus for Flute, Clarinet, violin, Cello and Piano (2015) by Chang Seok Choi has been just released today by ABLAZE Records.  Chang completed his PhD at York in 2016.

  • Roller Trio album recorded at cmrc

    PhD composition students James Mainwaring and Ben Eyes have collaborated on the new Roller Trio Album “New Devices” released today on Edition Records.

  • Ann Cleare on magnetic fields

    A new version of Ann Cleare’s work on magnetic fields will receive a world premiere in London this Thursday, June 14th at Goldsmith University’s Great Hall.

  • John Stringer performances in Japan and Italy

    Rika Zayasu gave the Japanese premiere of John Stringer’s Disquiet II  at Tokyo’s Art Space in March and Joseph Houston will give the Italian premiere in October in Ascoli as part of the Nuovi Spazi Musicali festival.

  • Thomas Simaku Lectures and Masterclasses in Vienna and Prague

     

    Thomas Simaku visited the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna where he gave a lecture for the composition class of Professor Michael Jarrell  on 25 April 2018.
