Jin Hyung Lim
Jin Hyung Lim began studying piano at the age of four and gave her début concert performance with the Daegu Philharmonic Orchestra at age ten, playing Beethoven’s piano concerto No. 3. She has studied at the Keimyung University, University of Ottawa, Ecole Normale de Musique à Paris, and McGill University. Throughout her career thus far, she has performed in Asia, Europe, and North America; upcoming events include recitals in Spain, Germany, and the U. K. She has also been broadcast on CBC and WPRB radios and recorded by the Lemoine and Naxos labels.
Jin’s research explores how political events and cultural or philosophical traditions influence music, focusing on Korean-German composer Isang Yun and his works.
With Patrick John Jones she won the 2015 Terry Holmes Composer & Performer Award.
Jin holds a Sir Jack Lyons Scholarship.
