PhD Composition

Meghan Connolly studied film scoring and composition under Alla Elana Cohen at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts (USA). After completing her degree she was awarded an internship with Bollywood music director Clinton Cerejo in Mumbai, India. She went on to earn a Master’s at Tufts University under the guidance of John McDonald. At Tufts Meghan developed significant interest in the application of ethnomusicological practices to composition, and shortly returned to India to study the Indian sarangi with Ustad Kamal Sabri Khan, son of legendary sarangi master Ustad Sabri Khan.

Meghan has had performances by the Melissa Licata Quartet and the ALEA III Contemporary Music Ensemble, and won an Achievement Scholarship from Berklee College of Music in 2012.
