William Hunt

PhD Composition

William is currently investigating aspects of music perception and psychoacoustics, and how these aspects relate to composition. He completed his MA in Composition at York under Dr Thomas Simaku,  supported by funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

He has had works performed by the Kreutzer and Diotima string quartets, was a featured composer as part of the New Dots: Sounds of the New composer project in 2014, and his piece How Lonely, for alto flute and piano, was chosen to be performed at the Royal College of Music as part of the Rarescale Composition Competition in 2013.
